Hi Acymailing Support Team!

We’ve been trying to install the free version of AcyMailing WordPress on an existing site of one of our clients. We had no trouble installing the plugin for other sites but it’s not working properly for this site, for unknown reasons so far.

It’s possible to install the plugin manually or via the WordPress plugin store. However, after installing, it’s not possible to active the plugin. It’s loading endlessly without anything happening. If you wait like over 5+ minutes, the site redirects to a 404 page but nothing else.

I can tell you, what we tried so far:

1. Made sure file permissions are right (644 for files, 755 for folders)
2. Tested PHP versions 8.1 to 8.3
3. Checked all other PHP settings, including memory_limit, which is set to 512M
4. Disabled all other plugins and switched to default WP theme and error still persisted
5. Removed security plugin WP All in One Security and disabled all settings of the plugin beforehand
6. Waited a few times, to make sure it’s not a temporary bug (still the same, even after days)
7. Switched to higher performing server
8. Checked JS console for errors (no errors)
9. Enabled WP Debug mode –> The site shows no error messages what so ever.
10. Checked server error log and also WordPress debug error log (both have either no error messages or only non related minor notifications)
11. No server timouts occured at all
12. WordPress and all plugins are up to date
13. REST API is working normally
14. Disabled all caching
15. Reinstalled the plugin a bunch of times.
16. Manually enabled the plugin via adding custom code to functions.php –> The plugin was activated after that but the problem just persisted, when we tried to use the plugin. Loading endlessly without a real error message.

So, now we are really confused. I haven’t seen this happen after 10+ years of working with WordPress and developing 150+ sites in this time period. What’s going on and how to fix it?

When I insert a dynamic field type (Subscription/Unsubscription) to a form, the link color is #0000f1 by default. I want to change this color, but I can’t, even by code mode, because the changed color is not saved, always remains in #0000f1. How to change this link color then?

I can not send emails, because the button “create” is missing.

The colors (black or white) no longer apply for “Email built with AcyMailing” located at the bottom of the newsletter for the free version (9.7.2).

Everything had been perfect for several months but I have just noticed that the newsletter emails go out with a broken URL in the image src for the “powered by acymailing” image.

It says it wants to find at ../plugins/acymailing/media/images/poweredby_black.png but it’s not there.

My investigations show it can be found in the subdirectory /editor/

I guess I can kludge a fix temporarily….

We would like to send a newsletter to all of our WordPress users with specific WordPress roles. We have set the options to automatically add and remove WordPress users, which works fine. New users are first registered as one role (trial member) and will switch to other roles in time. I tried importing/syncing the WordPress users of these specific roles and assign them to the mailing list, but this does not work: no mailing lists are assigned. It only works if I select a single role (maybe this is a comma/semi-colon issue as we are on the Dutch regional setting) and it does not unsubscribe users that no longer have one of these roles.

Or is there an easier way to link mailing lists to (multiple) WordPress roles?

Since our website updated to WordPress version 6.5.3 we cannot send email that is in the queue. We get an error “There has been a critical error on this website.” I can send a test email from the configuration page. So I don’t think it is our email provider.

Just installed this plugin. We see that an essential security feature ( ReCapcha ) which is free from Google, appears to be disabled , page says ” Pro version only “

Are we correct in assuming users of your plugin are then at the mercy of hackers and bots unless they buy your license ?

I’m having problems sending my newsletter.

I’m using Acymailing Starter 9.5.0 with Brevo (with the sending method marked deprecated)
The Brevo API key is correctly configured and test mailings work correctly.
However, during the last mailing campaign, the mailings were noted as sent whereas the recipients didn’t receive anything.

The report displays the following messages as many times as there are subscribers:

April 19, 2024 13:50: Error calling the URL contacts: Attribute length exceeded
April 19, 2024 13:50: Attribute length exceeded

Do you have any idea what’s causing this problem and how to solve it?

I am developing a website for a client and i gave him the Editor role.
I went into the Acymailing settings and i chose that editors can access acymailing.

When the client changed something in the acymailing settings (like the FROM: text) he couldnt access acymailing at all at the wordpress admin. It’s like the user role setting that i chose got wiped when he clicked save.

Im reporting to see if it is a general bug that can be fixed in the next version.

Also apart from that it would be helpful if you could also integrate a custom capability that we can assign with code to any user with perhaps a custom role.

I’m considering to use Acymailing on my page. I tested it on localhost and I have a big security question about:

How can I secure this function? Because there is no security key, EVERYONE FROM THE OUTSIDE CAN ADD E-MAIL ADDRESSES to my list. Or I’m wrong?

I tried this on localhost, used this part:

And it is working, the users are added to the list, the confirmation e-mails are send to them. This function is very useful, but can be also a harmfull. Or I’m wrong?

I have acymailing on two sites and they have both been having 502 errors recently.
The hosting company has suggested that this plug-in may be the one that is causing this.

You will notice that for 20 000 visits, your site “potatohouse.co.uk” generated nearly 90 000 CPU seconds (or average 4-5 seconds per visit). The situation with “lovepotatoes.co.uk” is even worse. For 8 000 visits, it generated 70 000 CPU seconds (or 8-10 seconds per visit).
As per the seconds entry, I am afraid, you would have to discuss the issue with your dev (or acymail) to reduce the number of executions (which are about 8 000 for the day).

We have had acymailing for a few years on one site with no problems and just added it to our other site in the last few months. We can’t have our commercial site going down so need to get to the bottom of this problem

Do you know if this plugin has changed? Does it use more memory? Can you suggest anything?

Hace unos dias instale el ACYmailing en mi WordPress.
No puedo enviar mails a una lista.
Cuando hago la prueba, me envia bien un mail a mi mismo, pero cuando quiero enviarselo a una lista, me tira error, y no entiendo porque.
El mail de prueba, lo envia bien.
Probe con mi SMTP de mi servidor, y tambien con PHP de wordpress pero actuan iguales.
Que puede llegar a ser?

I’m using the Acymailing widget for several years but lately (since the last version perhaps), the widget breaks the page it was into.

The widget was included with this shortcode [widget id=”acym_archive_widget-2″]. I wanted to try by including as a widget in the sidebar but when I got in the widgets area in the back office, the Acymailing widget breaks everything here too. I don’t have the widgets page but the start of the widget with the search bar then a message of wordpress that say there is an error on the website.

Can you please tell me if something changes in the widget code that could explain that?

I’m using External service (SMTP)

My Acymail is default configured (utf-8).

Of the 2 content parts, the text part is sent correctly as:

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

But the html part is sent as:

Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

This causes German umlauts (? ? ü ?) which started as utf-8, to be interpreted as ?¤ ?? ?? ?? and encoded in html as ä etc

This happens in the default confirmation mail, because the German for “confirmation” is “best?tigen”. I see no way to change the confirmation mail or set the correct text/html charset.

AcyMailing is no longer keeping the custom CSS I add when composing the email. I insert the code, send a test, and then go back to editing and the CSS is all gone.

Anyone with the same problem?

I discover AcyMailing. When testing a newsletter, I did not see my attached images displayed on the sent email.

My images are in .webp format. By replacing a .webp image with one in .png format, the e-mail sent displays the image correctly.

It’s annoying, because all my images are in .webp format

Can we do something?
