Nice Plugin.

The plugin works very well and is one of the best for AD authentication.
But if you have a problem the support will not help you because the forum is abandoned.

Plugin does not support AD environments that require BIND user and password for querying.

Very fast to setup on an AD environment. A lot of useful options for tight integration

Works great in our corporate environment. Integrates nicely with WooCommerce since you can set the Active Directory attributes to save as User Meta fields with WooCommerce field names, so the customer profile is populated automatically on login.

After some configuration and even support by the dev itself ADI works wonderful in our Intranet Multisite Environment. I recommend to sync the AD bulk import with a Domain Admin account. We had some problems with a standard user.
cheers

I tried several plugins for AD authentication. This one works perfectly. There are many options that are well ordered and explained.

If your LDAP use bind info and passowrd to query it, this plug in do not support it.

A lot of users say that it is a “very good” plugin.
After several weeks I can tell: DO NOT EVEN TRY IT if you’re not the technical specialist. there is nobody to ask questions, the forum here is dead and most of the questions will remain with no answer.
So.. maybe it is very good plugin and maybe even it is the best in the world but it will became useless if you’ll need any kind of support..
sorry..

When I installed it I did not enter any user account suffix because i thought it was not necessary when I only wanted users from one domain.
I got problems with some users working and some not.
I think the problem was users with the same username in the current domain and a trusted domain.
After I added the suffix it worked perfectly.

even if you put wrin id address in controller it says auth failed . So for every error it says the same.

I am really impressed which how many bases are covered out of the box with this plugin. It’s like all the considerations for use are already covered in the settings screen.
I ran into a couple of deprecated/notice errors with the test tool and the adLDAP class, which I was able to fix in short fashion. On that note, this plugin is using a super old LDAP library, with the improvements to the new version being a much more modular code base. I should note that the old version is working just fine.
Overall I am totally impressed. This saved me many hours of coding!

Like it, especially wp<->ldap sync function and role mapping.
There is a deprecated php function in use. You got a bugfix by mail.

I needed this plugin for a Knowledgebase that I created for my company’s internal Help Desk / other I/S teams.
I created several AD groups and gave the teams permission to their own AD groups so they can manage their own staff.
I use this with User Role Editor and User Access Manager perfectly.
Thanks much! Keep it updated and don’t let it die!

Well thought out. Superbly executed. The Test Tool proved to be an absolute life-saver for us. This was the only professional-grade but easy to configure LDAP plugin we could find that actually did the job properly.

Great plugin. I’ve checked all its features and it works fine!

Working great with NGINX / MarinaDB / PHP-FPM. I found out the the hard way… you need to have OpenLDAP installed for this to work.
How to install OpenLDAP on CentOS 7
yum install php-ldap
So far working perfectly with Windows Server 2012 R2!
@jhsdurham seem like you didn’t even bother reaching out to plugin author for help?

This plugin works well, bulk import from AD group is great.
Maybe, user meta could be more simple…
Thanks.

This is a comprehensive plugin with a bunch of good features. Especially the mod for the auto login feature is very useful to me. With the proper setup it works without problems. This allows to manage the users completely on the Active Diretory.
With the auto login feature users already logged in at the AD with their workstation and which visit the WordPress site for the first time will be created automatically with a random password in the background. Also they will get assigned a WP role which corresponds with their group at the AD. For the user it seems as if he visits a freely available website.
Changing the group of an user at the AD later is reflected in a change of the WP role immediately with the next auto login. Also disabling the user on the AD will prevent him from any further login on WordPress.
With the proper configuration for auto login the password which is used to login to the AD is never stored on or transferred through the WordPress website.

Have now installed this on two different WordPress sites and 3 different versions of WordPress. It has worked as described. The trick is to be exact in the set up and then use the AD groups to push to WordPress. Our Admins, Publishers, Authors and Contributors all come through with the correct permissions. Thanks for a great plugin!

WP 3.81
Windows Server 2008r2
Apache 2.4
After spending hours at this, mostly digging into the code itself to try and track down what is wrong.. its just not worth any more time. I did find number items in the code which are not documented anywhere in the install info. I found errors in the code that refer to checking for the test form having a username and … a username entered.. (not username and password). I don’t see there being answers from the creator in the support messages anywhere in recent times either. So I suggest staying away from this one.
