This is info for people who migrate to ACF Extended (plugin page / homepage), as recommended by this plugin’s author.

Copying flexible layouts isn’t available by default. You need to enable it for each Flexible Content field.

To do this:

1. Edit the Flexible Content field
2. Enable the option Advanced Flexible Content to see lots of new settings
3. Scroll down a bit to Additional Actions, and check the Copy/paste Layout checkbox

Also, if you’re only migrating for this feature, you may want to disable some of ACF Extended’s default features. Some of them add new pages, and others change the look of the admin, which your clients may not like. There’s a gist here which disables most of them:

Hello, since the update to ACF 5.8 pro it isn’t possible to copy single layouts with the icon button (magnifier) within a layout. When pasting by “paste layout(s)” the content is [null].

But I still can import layouts from another page with the button below the layouts “import layout(s)”.

Could you please fix this?

And I have some improvement suggestions for import layout feature and in combination with wpml:

When importing layouts from another page, it would be great to have a search box to find the desired post or page. On websites with a lot of pages and cpt it’s hard to find anything.

Regarding to wpml and import feature, it shows all posts and pages from all languages. Here should be a filter to show only posts and pages of current languages or better: a dropdown to filter by language.

Firstly thank you for your work on this Valentin. This is super useful and can see how much work has gone into it.
I’m having an issue using the plugin
I can duplicate or copy flexible layouts on a page but when I do this it removes any images uploaded to any image fields on the entire page. So from both the original and the copy of the layout being duplicated as well as any other layouts that had images uploaded to them.
I’m not 100% sure but it’s possible that this behaviour might only be affecting image fields that return image url and not those that return image.
I’d be super happy to share more info and/or help with troubleshooting/testing this and other functionality with the plugin if it’s still being actively developed.

Was excited about this plugin but it’s not working for me. Seeing this in the console on page load:

Problem with AJAX get template

The only option when hovering over a flexible row is “Duplicate this layout” (nothing about copy or paste) and after clicking and confirming I’ve saved my data, the loader just spins.

Any ideas?

The alert box with “There is an error in your data” appears when I copy paste the json layouts in IE. In Chrome it is ok and I can paste and save easily. The error appears in IE only
