For the moment, the plugin replace content and excerpt by a form and its ok.
But, i would like to show only the category excerpt and hide entire posts below in the category page.
It means, if plugin is active all the content in my article div (the_post_thumbnail, the_excerpt, the_post, …and his div) will be hidden.

I have used “Post Tags and Categories for Pages” to create a category “Template page”. I have set ACP to password protect this category.

When I add a page to this category, I was expecting it to become password protected, but this isn’t happening.
Has the plugin become out of date, or am I expecting too much from it?

Hi! Thanks for the plugin. Is there a way to password protect the category archive so that it will not show the listings of posts in the category?

For example: example.com/category/protected/ still show a listing of all the posts in that category. I don’t want people to even see the titles of the posts without a password.

It would be nice to have a shortcode which can placed inside the content, where the pw-form have to show up to prevent all design-elements in the text.

Maybe you have an workaround or this is in plan for a future update?

If you disable Plugin: Access Category Password, the above error will not be detected, and if enabled, it will be detected again.

Wouldn’t Site Health go unnoticed?

This error may have been detected before, but after WordPress Ver.5.4, I noticed that the site health results are displayed on the dashboard.

If I go to the plugin settings page and click ‘Save Changes’ (with or without making any setting changes) the password that I had previously set is reset to something. I have no idea what to as the subsequent login on my site does not accept my password or the default password. This means every time I go the settings page I have to re-enter my password in the ‘The password’ field. The password field on the settings page always contains 11 ‘blobs’ even though my password is only 7 characters long and the password field on the actual site login form also always shows 11 ‘blobs’ – I don’t know if that is a clue as to what is going on. I am using the plugin version 1.5.1

I am working on a small page where I have 2 categories added as menu items. I want all content under those menu items private until a password is entered. I’m close but the post name is visible when the password is requested. Any thing I’m missing?

I’m using you plugin to my wordpress (which is very useful) and I added Polylang tools.
Translated categories doesn’t appear on your administration settings.
I tried to add some html categories checkbox button manually in acpwd_func_impacted_categories() but it doens’t work even if the $options[‘impacted_categories’] array store the informations.

get_categories() only display the main categories and not the translated categories.

Do you have any idea on how to patch it ?
Or can I add a script on my page structure tu display the password screen if the page ID is X ?

We would like to inject a Gravity Form (e.g., via shortcode) after your plugin’s Password input.

Basically, if a user doesn’t know the password, we’d like to have a form under the input… so that the user can request the password via a Gravity Form. We have the Gravity Form ready, but can’t figure out how to add it below your password input.

Do you have a PHP filter/hook that we can use, to be able to add PHP code after the password input?

It would be really useful to be able to set two passwords that would each protect a different category or set of categories. This would be a simple way to create two access levels.

I’m not sure if I am doing something wrong, but the plugin doesn’t seem to be working for me.
I created a password to protect several categories.
However, when I post a new post to one of the protected categories, and try to access in an incognito window, all the post content IS displayed.
On some posts, however, it appears to work.

Can you help me?

I am protecting over 20 categories with the same password. I would like for users to enter the password once and assume that a cookie will save that password indefinitely until they clear cache so that they don’t have to enter it on each post.

Wordpress has told me that this is the case on Password Protected posts.

However, it seems that after a period of time, using Access Category Password, users need to re-enter the password.

I’m hoping you can tell me if this is by design and if there is any way to ensure that once the password is entered, it will be applied until cookies are removed.

Hi, I’m using your plugin but facing a major issue. For some reason the category archive pages are visible to the public even though the category posts are password protected. How can I lock down everything associated with a category?

Also is there any option to no index / no follow a password protected category?

Love the plugin. I have categories attached to pages {plugin: Category Tag Pages) and protect the “private” category. However, the page template also shows advanced custom field data. They suggest this can be protected (for simple password protected posts) by wrapping that code in
if (post_password_required()){}

Is there a similar function I can use with plugin?

Is there a way to exclude content from Password Protection? I have a post that I am password protecting. However, there is information the I have in my footer that is from a post. It is password protecting that info also.

I have checked the Single-post setting, but for me it shows everything from a post on the category page. Is it a bug, or is the FAQ not answered correctly?

I had expected from the FAQ that with checking the “only single posts” checkbox, the category page would show only the excerpt and NOT all the other content.

I wanted to use this for a portfolio post type..portfolio in this theme. This seems to only grab categories from blog posts is there a way you can think of to change to either grab all categories from all post types or change the base it is looking for?

I am thinking I need to sat portfolio_category or somehow change the cat_ID to the id of the portfolio.

My goal is to display a different menu for users who have entered the correct password.

I don’t find in your code the function that is called from “the_content()” into the post when it is part of protected category.

Hi, just downloaded and installed your plugin. When I set my new password, it doesn’t “stay” in there after I click “Save” on the plugin settings. The password box becomes empty and I can’t open any password protected posts with the password I entered in there. How do I set a password and get it to stay?
