Dear Friends
I have installed 404 redirection for my website
In the admin page, there always appears notice of number of 404 Redirected below:
“404 Redirected: There are 387 captured 404 URLs that need to be processed”
But do I need process them and how to do?
could you please teach me what to do? Edit/Trash/Ignore them
And where to process tab? Page redirects Tab or Captured 404 URLs?
Many thanks!
This plugin makes all the 404 pages redirect to them selfies on a loop.
Hi, Thank you for this great plug in, it seems to work like a charm.
I do have a question. Currently it automatically redirect all the 404 pages to the home page. How can I edit the plug in to redirect to a different page. I am looking to basically almost always to redirect it to the same page but sometimes I would prefer to redirect different pages or posts to others.
Is that possible. Thank you in advance for your work, help and response.
I am using the 404 redirection plugin, flippingwp.com, on my following site since last month. Everything was rolling, but suddenly I received one email from Google as follows:
MY WEBSITE IS: https://www.vsagar.org/
Google detected a significant increase in URLs we think should return a 404 (Page Not Found) error but do not.
Recommended action
Check the Crawl Errors page in Webmaster Tools.
We recommend that you always return a 404 (not found) or 410 (Gone) response code in response to a request for a non-existent page.
You can improve the user experience by configuring your site to display a custom 404 page when returning a 404 response code.

Hello
I know this is an old plugin but it is very popular.
I am not seeing the manual page redirects working –
I set up the redirect, but the old URL still goes to my 404 page. the domain is IDGResearch.com
For example, I entered the old URL starting with a slash as requested:
/employee-engagement-research/employee-engagement-experts/
And I selected a page:
https://idgresearch.com/workforce-efficacy-and-engagement-resources/
But when I test by navigating to the oldURL, I still get a 404 error:
https://idgresearchlcom/employee-engagement-research/employee-engagement-experts/
Can you help?
This plugin works fine for landing 404’s on front page. However, when viewing a category page with post thumbnails, the infinite scroll begins loading all thumbnails from all the categories after the category page’s thumbs have been loaded.
For example let’s say I have an auto vehicle site with posts containing pictures of cars from various manufacturers. The category pages are by each manufacturer. If the Ford category page is opened and after scrolling down and loading all posts of Ford’s, the infinite scroll begins to load all the manufacturer’s post in chronological order; as it the top of the front page.
So somehow the infinite scroll page request triggers the plugin to begin loading the post images as if the category page is the front page when there are no more posts for the category.
I’m using a free theme called Pin-It and isolated this by disabling the 404 Redirection plugin and reopening the same category page again and once all the post thumbs for the category were loaded, it then correctly stopped loading thumbs from other categories. Didn’t have the problem before installing the plugin so I’m sure the issue is being caused by the plugin and infinite scroll.
Hi all, I use often this plug-in but I’ve noticed that on pagineted content it doesn’t work very well. The redirection it’s ok on the first page but it doesn’t works on the 2nd pag and so on.
for example redirect from pippo to pluto
/tag/pippo goes to /tag/pluto it’s OK
but
tag/pippo/2 doesn’t works
How can I resolv?
tks
Hi,
Weirdly this plugin is making my images disappear on my blogs after a few seconds. The images show then a few seconds later they disappear.
The images works fine when this plugin is not active.
What could the issue be?
Thanks
I’m transitioning a client’s e-Commerce site from static .asp pages on IIS servers to WordPress. The client, however, is reluctant to change web hosts. The host support has been reasonably cooperative, and can host WP, but I fear that redirection will be an issue because of htaccess.
Additionally, the site structure is considerably altered from the current static site, and I kinda dread the thought of redirecting each old page to new URLs. (The most relevant plugins we’re using are WP e-commerce plugin, Gold Cart plugin and WP SEO by Yoast).
I’m hoping this 404 Redirection plugin can manage the task, and would greatly appreciate any advice you might have to offer ahead of time.
Thank you.
Hello,
First off, I ADORE your plugin, it makes my page load speed super fast! Without your plugin activated, I get over a 20 second load time, with your plugin activated, I get a 3 second load time.
Therefore, it is well worth it for me to use it, however, I am also using the Google XML Sitemaps plugin and when I checked Google Webmaster Tools, it was telling me that my xml sitemap was an html page.
When I go to my XML sitemap with your plugin activated, it redirects me to the homepage. https://www.datingwebsitesfor.com/sitemap.xml
When I deactivate your plugin, my sitemap shows up fine and Google Webmaster Tools picks it up right away.
Is there a way to stop this from happening?
Thanks!!

I have WordPress files installed to their own folder, rather than residing at the base level public_html directory on my server.
With your plugin, 404 codes go into a redirect loop.
This is because your plugin calls for the directory of the WordPress install folder, not the base url.
The fix is simple.
In the plugin files for 404 Redirection, line 35 of index.php must be changed from this:
wp_redirect(get_bloginfo('wpurl'),301);exit;
to THIS:
wp_redirect(get_bloginfo('url'),301);exit;
Since installing this slider I get an error message for
https://www.timbervet.com/wp-content/plugins/easing-slider/images/.gif
404 (page not found) error. Will the plug-in 404 redirection help this problem since it is not a page?
Hi Guys, this is a great plugin. But it lacks a cool feature, and I’ll suggest it.
When I click “Edit” link on a 404 URL, the next screen open a with ALL Blog Posts, Pages, Categories and Tags. This is a very useless combobox, because it’s impossible to search in thousands of lines.
Instead of that, an Autocomplete textbox would be nice, allowing user to select a post while typing the fisrt word of the post title.
That’s it. Thanks!
Doesn’t redirect anywhere. Just shows same non-existent url in address bar and shows front page of WP site, which I have set to redirect elsewhere.
The only thing this 404 redirect plugin did was redirect my sitemap to the home page. Was not happy about this.
