• Hello!

I’m using the new safari 4 beta browser on my mac, and all in wp seems to works good. The only thing that’s not working is the Add Link button in the posts editor.

When you click that button the add link window shows, but all fields and even whole window in the browser is grayed out like it would be disabled.

I’ve posted this on Apple Safari support forum too, but this could be either a wp or a safari problem, so… ??

    Any hints ?

@sarv007 you are definetly haven’t tried Safari 4.

The Tag chooser doesn’t work either, and Google Gears doesn’t seem to load…

I really don’t see why this is happening… Sure, it’s a beta and all that, but the WP-admin area isn’t more complex than common AJAX, right? (or something like it, i don’t know ??

I’m seeing the same problem – unable to use visual editor to add (or edit) links. In fact once the link icon is clicked, I’m unable to regain access to the page at all and have to close the tab.

Hopefully this isn’t the start of another TinyMCE bug type issue. The new Safari beta is considerably faster on my machine than version 3 was. Having to use a different browser to edit my WordPress site was painful until 2.5 fixed the TinyMCE problem.

I experienced this same problem when using WebKit Nightly Builds, so my guess is that this might be an issue related with the new WebKit engine. Before this is recognized (and fixed by either side, or both), maybe our only solution is to use browsers that use older WibKit engines (such as Safari 3), or those which use different engines (like Firefox or Camino).

Turn lemons into lemonaide. Have Safari 4 open to the target page to view changes, while you have Firefox open to do the actual edits. Its a nice workflow/process.
    ??

I have the same problem. I’m having to use Camino to do my edits when I want to add links, and then return to Safari 4.0 beta when I’m finished. Anyone have any idea when this will be fixed?

Anyone has found a workaround? Apart from doing the edit in another browser ??

Well… I edit the links in source mode, then go back to WYSIWIG. Works fine, although it’s obviously not optimal.

I have gone back to Firefox to edit my posts. I have the same problem with Safari 4 in adding a link. It just all darkens and I can’t do anything. I’ll try again later.
