Product bundle when calculating number of items

Hi there. I currently need some help. I have setup the plugin to work with options to verify the total product count in the cart in order to properly calculate the shipping. But is there a way to ignore the parent product of a Product Bundle when calculating the number of items in the cart? Because when it counts the parent product it’s ultimately affecting my shipping.
