    Hi Marcel,

I just downloaded the Gwolle Guestbook plugin and tried to import messages in a CSV-file from another guestbook (Tboek), but unfortunately got the message “Het lijkt erop dat je CSV-bestand van een export is die niet compatible is met deze versie van Gwolle Gastenboek.”. Could you tell me whether or how I can fix this? Thank you so much in advance.

    Kind regards,
    Jacqueline

Are you sure the CSV has the same headings as a fresh export?

You want to make sure the file is encoded in UTF-8 and has UNIX line-endings.

You can send your CSV to [email protected] and I can take a look.

Hi, that is quite messy, sorry.

I think your best bet is to use LibreOffice Calc, the spreadsheet program.
Than open the example CSV file from the plugin zipfile under /docs/import_export_example/.
    Also open your CSV file.
Then move all the data over to the right fields.

The fields should be separated by a comma (,) and encapsulated by quotes (“).
The current CSV has many quotes all over it, and it messes up the fields very much.

It will be quite a labourous job, sorry.

No problem for me, I think the labourous job will be worth it!

I tried to open the example CSV file from the plugin zipfile in LibreOffice 6.0, but got the message “Het bestand ‘gwolle-gb.2.3.10.zip’ is beschadigd en kan daarom niet worden geopend. … De beschadiging kan het resultaat zijn van het manipuleren van het document of van structurele schade aan het document tijdens de gegevensoverdracht. … Het bestand ‘gwolle-gb.2.3.10.zip’ kan niet gerepareerd worden en daarom ook niet geopend worden.”

I deleted the zip-file and tried again, but with the same error. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

Thank you so much for your time!

Hi, you need to unpack the zipfile. That can probably be done from EXplorer, right-click, select someting like Unpack.

You can also get it from here:

    Hi Marcel,

I finished importing the messages from my former guestbook into Gwolle Guestbook and it looks great! My csv-file was indeed really messy, so it was quite some work, but it was definitely worth the effort. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out, and ofcourse for everything you put into to share this awewome plugin!

    Kind regards,
    Jacqueline
