• After I upgraded to 4.9.4, a couple of my members (this is also a buddypress site) could no longer log in. They get a “Your IP address nnn.nnn.n.nn has been blocked by the Administrator for security purposes” message. It still occurs after disabling all plugins. Problem has not occurred on my other WP installations at the same host (those installations are still on 4.9.3.) If I set up a new account for the member, they can log in without a problem (not an acceptable workaround since they several years of activity associated with their member profiles.) Members have tried logging in on different computers, clearing the cache, etc. The only thing that enables them to log in is creating a new account. The block is completely random and only happens (thus far) with about 5% of the members. I whitelisted them in Wordfence, but the error occurs whether WF is enabled or not. I have no other security plugins installed.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Nothing in 4.9.4 blocks IP addresses, so this is not an upgrade issue. PLease check with your host to see if they’re using a security thing “above” the level of your site.

The host verified that there is nothing server-side that would cause this. Especially difficult because I can’t replicate it myself. grrrrrr.
