    Hi,

I have several tables which are essentially top lists with the first column containing rankings (row 1 – #1, row 2 – #2, row 3 – #3 etc). Currently I’m adding these numbers manually so whenever something needs to be added or re-ordered I need to update the following rows manually.

Ideally I would like automatic numbering of the rows based on the original order.

I looked into the DataTables Counter Column but unfortunately (for me) the row numbers are fixed so when the visitor sorts by any other column the rank is lost.

Is there currently any setting or hack that can do what I want? Automatic, non-sticky row counting?

Thank you for all the hard work!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I see what you mean, but from the top of my head, I can’t really think of a quick and easy solution here ?? Your best chance might be to quickly add such a column in Excel and then re-import the table into TablePress from a CSV file.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thank you for the follow-up.

Would it be possible to pay you to make the necessary modification(s) to the plugin/extension to facilitate such a feature?

If not, it would be much appreciated if you could at least consider it a feature request for the future.

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

unfortunately, I’ll have to disappoint you here. At this time, I’m not able to offer such professional services, as I’m just too busy with my regular job.

I’ll however add this to my list of ideas, but the priority will be rather low, as I don’t think that this will be very beneficial for many users. Sorry ??

    Regards,
    Tobias
