    Hello,
Since one of the most recent updates now adding a plus sign in front of a block of text creates bullet points, similar to the asterisk from before, or the hash symbol creating headers.

Unfortunately that’s causing a major headache for our magazine, as we use those for different things.

Is there any way I can write a function to turn that feature off?

    Thanks!

  • Hi there! ??

Have you checked the theme’s CSS code to see if you can just make a simple edit there in stead? It would also probably be helpful if we knew what theme and theme version you’re using, along with a link so we can see an example.

    Thanks,
    Kit

It turned out to be a bug(?) in markdown, a part of Jetpack. The markdown page has both * and – listed as automatic bullet list shortcuts, and not +, so I thought it wasn’t related to that. Turning off markdown fixed this problem.
