Improve render time

  • Hey All,
    I’ve installed WordPress, and I’m using the out-of-the-box template. For some reason, the render time is rather long, does anybody have any tips on what I can do to improve the render time?

  • Toss out that old 286 you’re sitting at, and get yourself one of those new pentiums. ??
    Seriously; Are all the files there? Is your browser updated? Server healthy?

    There is a ‘staticize’ plugin which could also be used, but the only url I can find here leads to a dead link. Anyone know where a good link is ?

    I’m using XP with the lastest browser patched. Other WordPress base sites render very quickly. As for the web host, it is not dedicated server. Having said that, I do have one other PHP/MySQL based site, and it renders in < 1 sec (currently the WordPress based site renders in approximately 2 seconds). I don’t control the box, but I will find out the config.
