I have a problem with my wordpress today – about an hour ago I realized that it shows 500 internal server problem, although about 2 hours ago everything was working just fine. I didn’t change anything today – but I have activated few new plugins yesterday (canonical and all-in-one-seo-pack). There weren’t any problems with them.
The rest of my site is working, so is ftp connection – so I guess it’s rather not a problem with my host?

Two month’s ago a friend who is lending me some server space moved to a new host, and now I don’t have access to my database and I also can’t upgrade my wordpress to a newest version. I’m looking for my own host to move, but of course I would like to fix this problem first.
    Can you help me?

A 500 internal server error is usually a problem with the host so it’s probably a good idea to check with them. Did anything change with your .htaccess file? You could try renaming that temporarily and then see if you can access the site.

    thanks for the answer.
the only .htaccess file I can see is in a main folder of my site – there were no changes made, but to be sure – I’ve tried to rename this file to see if it’d help. nothing changed. My main site is working. Only a subdomain with wordpress is not.
Should I have any other .htaccess file?

    Not necessarily. (.htacess)

Since you have ftp access you can also try renaming the plugins folder to see if perhaps there is a conflict even though everything seemed fine yesterday.

Since you can access the main part of your site I guess it isn’t a server issue after all.

I’ve tried moving plugins to another folder, renaming them, also renaming plugins folder. It doesn’t help ??
still waiting for the answer from host but I’m affraid they won’t be able to help in this case.
