I cannot add events, and I cannot access settings…. Same error at the bottom……

I had to revert to old user, Old directory, and restore my database…. I’m back up and running but is there anything I could be missing if I change the user again? This is the only site witht his plug in and the other sites I did were fine no issues… yet….

    Hi @mrjoeliec,

First, there are a few different causes of the 200 error and some differnet solutions. Here are some steps that may solve this problem for you, please go through each one until the issue is resolved:

    – Make sure that your Calendar page is set to the right page in the Settings > Viewing Events tab (no need to use shortcode on a page set as the default in the plugin settings)
    – Try turning on/off “Strict compatibility content filtering” in Events -> Settings –> Viewing Events.
    – Try turning on/off “Use frontend rendering” in Events -> Settings –> Advanced
    – Try resetting permalink settings to Plain and then back to your custom style
    – This error is most likely a result of a plugin or theme conflict (usually caused by a caching or security plugin).. Please try a different theme temporarily such as Twenty Seventeen, or, disable all plugins and then check if the problem recurrs — then re-enable each one until you find which one caused the problem.

I’m banking on the last one ^^ to resolve your problem.

Second, if you delete the plugin, it will clean up the database and remove all events. To reinstall while keeping the events, there is a specific set of steps to follow:

    For your reference only:

    – Perform a complete back up of your database before proceeding further
    – Delete the file uninstall.php from the plugin directory that is currently on the server (found under /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar). Deleting this file ensures that when you uninstall the current version of the plugin, your event data and calendar settings will be preserved when you delete the plugin (don’t skip this step – it’s important!)
    – Deactivate the All-in-One Event Calendar using your WordPress Dashboard.
    – Delete the All-in-One Event Calendar using your WordPress Dashboard.
    – Database -> wp_options, click option_name to sort and delete everything with ai1ec_, this will delete plugin settings but events will remain in the database.
    – Now install the latest version.

Third, for issues where you can’t see the Settings — this is related to your host’s PHP installation, it is either out dated, or, incompletely installed. Many users report problems hosted on Godaddy with no resolution, just FYI.

For many users, changing the PHP version fixed the problem. For others, they had to recompile PHP with common extensions enabled, as they should be.

If it still doesn’t work for you, your options are to

    i. ask your host to recompile PHP with common extensions enabled

    or

ii. switch to a different host

    or

iii. try using our web app calendar instead, which runs independant of host or platform and is therefore conflict-free. The free version comes with one import feed limited to 15 events, but can be upgraded.. if you wish to check it out, see this page:

    Sunny,

Thank you for responding! It’s nice to see that, sometimes these types of plugins are black holes… ??

Just before I reverted back to get everything back up and running I noticed something was very broken as well… “Supercache”

Now – on my other sites that I changed user and folders on, this did not break… But I think your “Banking instincts” are correct… If the cache was broken, that was probably what was breaking the Calendar… I’m considering just moving the rest of my sites and leaving this one as is since I got it back to the way it was….

I really Like this product… It does sometimes seem to be persnickety and fragile at times… But it does everything I need and more… and looks good while doing it…

I think if I can figure out why the cache broke I reckon time.ly will not break…

    Cheers!

    Hi @mrjoeliec,
