Newbie to WP – still trying to get it to do what I want. I have a purchased .com domain. I have pointed it to my installed wp site and that works for the first (home) page. I can’t figure out how to get the other pages to take their cue from the purchased domain rather than install location. For example the wp static page is https://www.greatdomain.com – the purchase domain I want to use. The other pages still have the url listed above which is the install location. I need to have the page listed above (and all the other pages) be https://www.greatdomain.com/gallery(other appropriate title)/ I figure this was easy, but not to me. I don’t want to move my wp installation -just redirect the urls. Thanks in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi.,

    I think its simple,

Just move your files to root folder instead of nrhorse folder

Then login your wp-admin and update the site url if you can’t you can set site url via wp-config file

If you want further help I’ll be happy to assist.

    Thanks.,

    Hi Rajan,
I don’t want to move my wp installation site. Is there a way to update things without moving file location?

Yes, You can point your domain to the particular folder. So the particular folder act as root folder

I have done that, but it just works for the static home page. All the others pages reflect the installed location rather than the assigned domain.

Apparently I had the settings right, but there was an issue on the server end. I contacted by host company and they resolved the issue. Hmmm….
