    Hi there,

I’ve installed WordPress on OSX with MySQL 5.0 and crappy default OSX Apache 1.x. I’ve had it working and installed, but something weird happens during the install – instead of forwarding me to the page that has my username and password, I’m brought to the “Already Installed” message.

Last week when this happened, I did some finagling to reset my password, which was great until I wanted some other users to register, which they did – but never got passwords sent to them.

This is mighty strange, to say the least. Any ideas about why this is happening? I’ve dropped all of the WordPress tables after installing. I created the db using the MySQL gui admin. My intuition makes me think that this isn’t a database thing, though.

Any thoughts? More information needed? Thank you!

Might consider an SMTP mail type plugin if you aren’t getting emails.

I created the db using the MySQL gui admin

If you DROPped the tables, doing the install.php would have recreated the tables and populated them with the initial data.

Oh, cool! The SMTP plugin worked! Thanks! So, I guess the PHP mailer thing was the problem, maybe? Either way, it doesn’t matter since the problem is solved. ??

    Thank you!
