Hi, I dont fully understand the concept of active/inactive.

I assumed it replaces the deafult ‘maintancence’ page.
When I iupdate plugins that page is shown. Does your plugin automaticly is used when set to active?
Or means active: updating or not, show the page?

  • Hello @keesjan,

When you update a plugin/theme, WordPress will always show their maintenance page. This plugin won’t change that maintenance page even if it is “active” because there is no way to do that (using hooks).

If you want to change only the design of that page, I recommend following this tutorial: https://www.kevinleary.net/custom-maintenance-page-wordpress/

WP Maintenance Mode can be used to show a custom maintenance page (to the users that are not logged in), but it has nothing to do with the maintenance page you’re talking about.

    Thanks!
