I have a small blog on a host, and pay the $80 a year for unlimited size and bandwidth (for the day I get dug… lol). I have a half built a blog for our small community on wordpress.com. But the limitations of not allowing iFrames are really preventing me from doing what I want and finishing it. Sooo.

Thought about moving the community blog in under my real blog, residing in something like myrealblog.com/communty/. Reading the instructions for multiple installs, it says to put each blog in its own folder on the root directory.

Can my blog on the root directory, and a separate install inside a folder on the root directory get along?

    Assumed I would have to:
    1) make a new folder on root, and install the blog into it.
    2) make a separate database, and config the new blog for it.
    3) Perhaps edit my domain on my provider? (not sure here)

    Thanks,
    sunflowerfly

Typically yes. I’ve seen some rare wrinkles with that, but in most cases it should work just fine. And really, just one way to find out… ??

    2) make a separate database, and config the new blog for it.

You can use the same database as the other, just specify a different prefix in the wp-config.php. There are pros and cons both ways so go with whatever makes sense for you, I suppose.
