Super excited !

  • First of all, as a WordPress plugins / theme developer I’m super excited with Gutenberg, the current page-builders ecosystem is a real pain to develop for and so far Gutenberg is much more fun ( and easier ) to deal with.

    I’m also really excited as a “regular” WordPress user, writing posts with Gutenberg is a real pleasure and feels just so much better than the classic editor.

    It’s really great to see you excited about this. What are your plans on creating things with it? Are you thinking about writing any blocks?

    Definitely going to make some blocks. From what I understood ( I hope I’m right on this ) it will be a great way to replace shortcodes, much easier for users to find and use than shortcodes for which you need to read a documentation somehow.

    From what I understood Gutenberg’s purpose is not to replace page builders, but that’s how I want to use it as a developer. The customizer was a great improvement over custom themes dashboards, I’m sure Gutenberg will be a great improvement as well.
