Site disappeared!

    Last week I realized my site had been altered, so I have a few questions. How can I tell if someone made changes?
    I noticed something different (I am not my own webdesigner) and deleted some lines from the footer page. It was all bogus stuff (saying montreal, louis vitton, etc.. for about 30 lines. I deleted it, leaving one line.
    The site disappeared. While I was logged in to my admin stuff I could see the basic setup of my site but since I have logged off, I can’t get back to my site at all.

    I am wondering, do I have to start all over again. Download everything to my webhosting.
    I appreciate any help you can provide.

    I no longer have a web person and will be doing it myself.
