Lost Formatting – Preview Different from Live View

I created my first blog post which shows all formatting fine in the “preview” but when I update, then publish, and look at the first page of my webpage, it shows a block of gray text with no formatting. clicking on “read more” goes to the blog post and it shows the formatting fine. It is just the main page of my website that has the blog posting without any formatting. Please help!
