Can you try to enter your SMTP password again and save settings?

I updated from 1.3.3 to 1.3.5 and ever since I get the same error message: 535 authentication failed. I resaved the password, even created a new smtp account. Nothing works. I tried different ports as well.

Which SMTP server are you using? Is it Gmail or similar, or your hosting company’s server?

4) My version of wordpress is 4.8.1
