Message “Thank you for your message. It has been sent” not shown

  • Hello, thank you for your plugin!

    everything is working except the message “Thank you for your message. It has been sent” is not shown after sending.. so people cannot know it actually worked.

    Try switching to the default theme and deactivating all other plugins.

    same issue, none of the wpcf7-response-output messages show up.
    plain wp on seventeen theme 4.9.2 and only CF7 4.9.2 running
    local dev env

    edit: nvm, found the issue, it was a stray closing div tag inside my contact form
