    Hi there,

I would like to remove the yoast_breadcrumb on some pages that a linked to 4 different categories because these are generated by “The Events Calendar” Plugin and show a wrong (generic) title on the Event List page and nothing on the actual event ages. So I semi Hard coded the breadcrumbs on those pages, but need to remove the output of the yoast_breadcrumb in order not to double up the <p id=”breadcrumbs”> in the HTML…

How can I tweak the if ( function_exists('yoast_breadcrumb') statement to exclude this if the posts are related to either category 6,7,8,9,10?

    Thank you for your help,
    Marc

In order to remove the Yoast SEO Breadcrumb from specific pages or taxonomies, you’ll need to implement custom code on your site. Unfortunately, we can’t offer support on the custom code (needed to change (core) features of our plugin). Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting an incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. Maybe someone watching these forums can assist you further, but if your topic is inactive for 7 days, we’ll mark it as resolved to keep the overview.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hi Md Mazedul Islam Khan,

Thank you for your quick response.

However, I do not really understand how custom code on my end would imply the need to change (core) features of your plugin.

OK, let’s try again, why is your plugin displaying just the word “Events” as a breadcrumb and not “SiteName ? Events” on the default Event listing page of The Events Calendar?

And the breadcrumb on each event page is completely empty (<p id=”breadcrumbs”></p>).

However in your plugin Advanced Settings Page I can see the “Events:” under “Taxonomy to show in breadcrumbs for post types” and “Event Category:” under “Post type archive to show in breadcrumbs for taxonomies” – changing these settings in any way does not effect the display of breadcrumbs for the front-end.

    Thank you for your help,
    Marc

We looked at your provided page and we don’t see the Yoast SEO generated breadcrumbs anywhere on there. Please, make sure the Yoast SEO breadcrumb is enabled on your site.

On the other hand, the Yoast SEO doesn’t have the option to disable the breadcrumbs on the specific pages at this moment. Therefore, you’ll need to implement the Yoast SEO breadcrumb conditionally on your site.

    Hi @mazedulislamkhan,

The “provided page” is not my page, it is the page of the plugin-author for the “events calendar” pages where the Yoast Breadcrumb does not work. The website in question is still under development, hence why I can’t give you publicly a link to it. But I am sure you can easily replicate the issue.

According to a post on their website Yoast is aware of this problem…

I do not want to disable the breadcrumbs, I would like them to work ??

Any solution from Yoast for this problem?

    Thank you for your help,
    Marc

Therefore, we recommend you please reach out the events calendar plugin as it seems a known issue to them and ask for an update about the conflict.

If they’re unable to provide you an update, please do feel free to submit a bug report to our GitHub repository. We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. Hi @mazedulislamkhan, @yoast

No problem, but it is actually mentioned here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/yoast-wordpress-seo-plugin-conflicts/.

Might be easier if you/Yoast talk directly to them (e.g. @vicskf) instead of users having to do this for you/Yoast.

Thank you for your help, I hope you find a working solution soon – please let me know,
    Marc
