I can’t seem to switch out of learning mode for the Firewall. It says it’s set to automatically switch in a week and it won’t let me change that. I select a different date/time and click “save”. In the bottom right corner I see the message “Wordfence is Working”. But when I come back to the page it’s still in Learning Mode.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @vfhwebdev,

Could you check that the user the web server runs as has sufficient privileges to update the database:

    • Go to Wordfence –> Tools –> Diagnostics
    • Check the MySQL section

Yes. Here’s what that section shows:

    MySQL
Checking if MySQL user has DELETE privilege OK
Checking if MySQL user has INSERT privilege OK
Checking if MySQL user has UPDATE privilege OK
Checking if MySQL user has SELECT privilege OK
Checking if MySQL user has CREATE TABLE privilege OK
Checking if MySQL user has ALTER TABLE privilege OK
Checking if MySQL user has DROP privilege OK
Checking if MySQL user has TRUNCATE privilege OK

    Hi @vfhwebdev,

Are there any files listed in the “Log Files (Error messages from WordPress core, plugins, and themes)” section on the Wordfence –> Tools –> Diagnostics page?

Also, could you please enable WP_DEBUG then try and switch the Firewall Status to “Enabled and Protecting” and check the generated log file (if any).

Thanks for the help. Wordfence switched itself out of learning mode a few days ago. I was hoping to enable it sooner, but now that it’s out of learning mode, the issue is moot.

    Thanks.
