• Just this past week, I started receiving newsletters from my own blog. The newsletters were sent after a new post was published, but I never set up an automated newsletter feature. I use mail chimp for my subscriber list and am currently building all my newsletters manually within mailchimp, and these new newsletters are coming from wordpress.

I cannot find newsletter settings anywhere within my site admin. I see a subscriber list but I am the only one on it b/c my subscriber list goes through mailchimp. The newsletter is coming from the email: “[email protected]” so is it possible this is a jetpack issue? I reached out to their support but haven’t heard back yet.

And yes, my site is set up with www.remarpro.com.

I’m just so utterly confused how this magically came to be. I’ve been posting for over two months now and it was only a few days ago that these emails started being generated.

Everything I search for to find help in forums assumes I am asking about installing a newsletter plug in, so I can’t find any help on finding and disabling this automated feature.

Anyone have any insight? Please and thank you!

Did you enable the Jetpack subscription feature?

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply. I was just exploring the debug section and disabled the subscription feature. I set up Jetpack over a month ago, so I’m still not sure why newsletters started just this week, but hopefully that’s the solution.

I have another post going live tomorrow so that will be the test. I find it so strange that there is no actual choice to have a newsletter send automatically. If I want people to subscribe, wouldn’t I also be able to control emails?? And for example, the only way I’ll know if disabling the subscription feature will end the newsletters is to wait and see what happens after my post publishes tomorrow? It just seems like there should be an area in settings where I can decide when and what newsletters go out. Am I missing something??! Thanks again!

Hi – Yes, I am. That’s the reason I even knew of this automation. I am pretty sure I am the only one getting the emails right now so it’s not the end of the world, except that in all the moving parts of a blog I don’t need any extra thing happening without my understanding. Or without me wanting it to happen.
