Moving WP-CONTENT folder causes corruption?

Hello,
I want to change my blogs wp-content folder so the URL shows as:
https://masonsklut.com/wp-content/uploads/and not
https://masonsklut.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/
I installed WordPress in a subfolder called ‘WP’, but I have the index.php file on the root directory. How can I change the location of the URL I mentioned above without corrupting my plugins and/or my themes?
