Can’t login or access my blog anymore

If Resetting Your Password doesn’t work:

Here’s some things to try:
1. logout or logout with https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?loggedout=true
2. clear cookies and cache (or any cache)
3. exit browser
4. make sure local firewall is not causing problem
5. login with https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php
6. disable all plugins–if necessary read How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?
7. temporarily rename .htaccess if possible

If WordPress is installed in something other than the root folder please take that into account for the above url examples

Yes! I tried all those things sequentially. What worked was when I disabled the plugins by renaming the plugin folder via FTP. That allowed me to log in. Then I reactivated the plugins and all is well. I don’t know why that happened, I haven’t added any plugins for weeks.

Strangely, I couldn’t log in to WordPress – again (even with my new account) to write this reply. Resetting the password, though, did work.

P.S. It’s v 2.7 I’m using not 2.6.
