wp-content/uploads folder is missing
-
I’ve just installed WordPress 2.7 and have published my first post — everything seems to be working. I have tried to upload my first image and the system registers the image (i.e., I go to Media >> Library and there it is), but the image is not actually on the server!
I noticed that the image is linked to a location like “wp-content/uploads/2009/02/”, so I thought it might be a permission issue. I have changed the permissions on the wp-content folder to 777. I’m not required to create a new folder for each month am I? I suppose I could create the folder and upload the image myself, but I assume that is what the image uploader is for.
I suspect I’ve missed a step in the installation process, but I can’t figure out what. Thanks in advance for your help.
Dave
