Hi, I thank you for the help you have given us all on this theme. I have used a lot of the CSS tips already that you have provided to others.

I would like to change way the excerpt is generated from my posts for the front page or other blog post listings. It seems to just pull the first few lines – but for me that includes headers and such and makes for an awkward excerpt. Is there CSS or plugin or other way to create a custom excerpt?

I have two other themes for other sites and one uses a read more tag to define where the excerpt ends and the other has a custom field for the excerpt, but I can’t seem to find out how I might do this for this theme. Thanks in advance!

@shoshannah Thanks for trying out Kale, we appreciate it ??

In order to explicitly specify an excerpt for a post or a page, go to the page/post edit screen. Click on “Screen Options” in the top right. See this screenshot: https://prntscr.com/csmy4q It would open a ‘drawer’ like this: https://prntscr.com/csmyaj Make sure “Excerpt” is checked. Now scroll down to see the “Excerpt” field (it should be after the content editor): https://prntscr.com/csmzcg Whatever you enter in here will be shown on the home page and any place where the post/page excerpts are being displayed.
