    Hi,

I installed a mod to remove images, not used and it deleted them all.
It did recommended me to backup the database, but I didn’t.

I have uploaded all the files, back to the uploads folder 2017/
Folders 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11 are missing and some images from 12 are also missing, from the media manager.

Is there away to re-add them back into WordPress, or are they gone?

It was my own fault, as I never had the backup in place, but have since fixed that, a bit late.

    Regards,
    Gaz

  • Hi,
No way you can restore images which you deleted mistakenly. But least chance please check with your hosting provider to see if any backup has taken earlier with prior to delete date.

Note : If you know how to handle cpanel then please navigate to backup section to see if any backup created last in your server which will help you to restore the files which you deleted mistakenly.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,

    Hi Gaz,

Do you see those folders via FTP? If those folders are not present if you check it via FTP and you didn’t take any backups then I am afraid of getting those images back. However, there’s still hope to get it back by asking your web hosting provider in case they are performing automatic backups.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the replies ??

I was hosting myself on a VPS (no control panel), and hadn’t put in SQL backups in place for the site. I have the images still, so I will have to manually add them back in.

As I said in my first, plaace it was my own fault. Won’t be doing that again.
Have now setup a remote server, to backup to every night, with SQL.

    Regards,
    Gaz

    Hi Gaz,

Without any backups, I am afraid of getting it back. Better you start to set it up manually.

I use BackWPup plugin to manage my automatic backups.
