My blog https://www.ckspaddlefest.com is a new install of wordpress 2.7.
I have a a backup database that I am trying to restore into the new blog. Every time that I try to restore the backup db I get a blank page, and 404 errors when I go to the wp-admin.php page. I can go back and reload the new database (with no content) and the blog is ok.

I have looked in the forums and found a few things that I have already done (plugins off, default theme, theme that I was previously using-athualpa, char set to UTF-8, etc)

Before I rebuild the blog manually, I wanted to see if anyone had any info on this or has experienced this before.

I am hosting with Godaddy mySQl 5.0.

    Thanks,
    Bobby

  • what version did you upgrade from?
are you running php 5.x.x at godaddy?

How exactly are you trying to restore it?

Yes, I am running the latest version of PHP. The transfer was on a recent blog (less than a month old) so it was transferring the same versions of PHP and sql.

I restored it by dropping the existing tables and then selecting the blank database(bottom of the page) and then importing the backup. I also loaded the new database into the db_backup file in the GoDaddy Server.

    Thanks,

I’ve copied and pasted most of the blog back so no worries on the help. I’ll chalk it up to user error.

    Thanks,
