***EMERGANCY *** Cloned post relationship issue
-
There are two massive issues with this plugin having cloned posts tied to the original that are causing MASSIVE problems for us.
1: When cloning a new post the original post will start showing the cloned post’s content until the cloned post is published. This means the entire time an editor is updating a cloned article the original will be displaying the wrong content. Example work flow. A post with the title “Hello World” to create a new post with the title “Goodbye World.” Once the “Hello World” post is cloned, and edits are made to the clone to change the title to “Goodbye World” the original “Hello World” post will be showing the updates until the editor finishes publishing the clone.
2: When a cloned copy of a post is deleted, the URL (which should now be a 404) redirects to the source post that the deleted post was cloned from. For example: mysite.com/post1 is cloned to create mysite.com/post2. The second post is later deleted, and the url mysite.com/post2 now redirects to mysite.com/post1
This bug makes removing content impossible, and is currently causing us MASSIV legal compliance issues as we are not able to remove an article so it directs to a 404 page.
I understand that fixing these extremely serious bugs will take time, but I’m hoping you have a workaround that we can perform on our end to get a cloned article to go away without turning into a redirect. This has put us in a very bad situation.
Thanks,
/Chris
