    Hello,

I want to move all the posts and media from https://sailingstellapolaris.com to https://julseth.com, without deleting any of the posts/pages/media or formatting on https://julseth.com.

I tried the “Export/Import” feature as part of “Tools”, and only imported the posts, but none of the media (pictures) were imported (but all the text was), since no pictures were included I deleted all the posts and tried again. This time none of the text and none of the pictures are imported, because it seems like the importer thinks the files I deleted are still there (even though I permanently deleted the trash and they had no images attached to them).

How can I import the posts from https://sailingstellapolaris.com into https://julseth.com ensuring I get both text and pictures?

    Best regards

    Andreas

  • So pull in posts and associated media from one WordPress site and import it into an existing WordPress site without overriding it’s existing content and media?

Well thats a bit tricker then simply migrating one site to a new domain…

So what I would do is use an SFTP client and download the media from site 1 and then migrate it over to site 2. This is assuming the media is completely different and there won’t be any naming collisions (files with the same name in your uploads folder).

Now use the export tool to export the posts (and don’t include the media this time – you took care of this in the previous step) from site 1 and import that into your site 2.

You should now have the posts and associated content from site 1 merged into site 2 without overwriting anything already in site 2.

    Anyway, hope this helps!
