• I logged into my dashboard after two weeks, and noticed there was 4.9.1 version available. I wanted to ugrade, so I initially tried to click the button, but it prompted my FTP information. I provided the FTP information, but it would still not do anything. Instead, I went to check the Codex, and there was a tutorial on how to manually upgrade using FTP client.

I literally replaced everything with the latest version package, and it STILL prompts me to update.

How can I get the piece of fudge upgraded?

  • This doesn’t sound right. Did you delete all folders and files via ftp except for wp-content and wp-config.php ? Maybe you have more than one site on your server and by accident updated in a different folder?
Did you empty your cache after the update?
