  • Hi @popelvis,

In order to help a bit more, I’ll definitely need more information from your end. How is your PHP setup? Is PHP loaded through mod_php, mod_fastcgi, or something else? Also, what about directory permissions? Does the issue reproduce when you generally try to upload something through WP?

oh Sorry I forgot to tell that The wp direcorty permission is 755. Yes, I get the issue when I generally try to upoald anything to wp. the pictures are just normal jpg files and definitely less then 2gb. But I dont know how to look up for the php setup.

@cspiliakos thanks for your fast help!

@popelvis, contact your hosting provider and ask them to change the php settings so that your web server can also write the folders. Usually setting the php to mod_fastcgi does the trick.

    ok thanks!

You’re welcome! Let me know if that works, otherwise, you can just change the /wp-content/uploads/ folder permissions to 777, though it’s not recommended, and could lead to a HUGE security risk on your site.

    i will test it

    up

What did your hosting provider tell you about this issue? It sounds either like a bad installation, or something blocking WP from their end. Can they install WP for you on your account and set it up so that you can upload files from within WP itself?
