Basic Functionality Missing

Just some basic questions and comments.

I like the new version (2.7). Can we please keep this admin interface for awhile? Say… the next 4-5 releases. Can the dev team perhaps focus on adding basic functionality that is missing such as sticky posts, page mash/manipulation, roles/permissions, restricted categories, better menu structure, email members, seeded contact form, custom registration.

Yes, I know whese plugins are available–I just believe this is intrinsic functionality that should be incorporated into the core software–so I don’t have to deal with old versions being out of sync with the newest version of WP, everytime I upgrade. Sticky posts are pretty basic. So is providing the ability to email (text) everyone who’s in my community… What does everyone else think?
