Documentation for AJAX Plugin Development?

I need to update my plugin’s admin area to mesh better with WP 2.7. I have nearly zero experience with AJAX web UI programming. Is there any accessible WP dev documentation to ease me into this process? I’d like to make sure that whatever I’m using is as close to the WP core admin UI’s methods.
