Events-page sometimes blank – until you change the picture

    Hello everyone,

    I guess my problem is a bit similar to this one:

    I installed VSEL (I love it for it’s simplicity!) and created a few test events, some in the future, some in the past (which where otherwise really exactly the same as the other events I created on the same day). I noticed, that every now and then (about one out of three) events would just be blank. In the event-overview page I’d see event text, date, picture etc. But when I click on the event title I don’t see the single-event page as with most of the other events I created, but a completely blank page that didn’t even load the blog’s header or menu.
    I tried to re-save or edit and save the permalink, the event text: nada.
    The only thing that worked with both faulty events:
    Changing the event’s picture! I have no idea why, as I use the picture I tried to use before on other parts of the website without any trouble. (Also it has been displayed correctly in the event list overview.)

    The theme I’m using is “the ark”, in case someone else experiences the same problem.

    I’m not sure whether someone can help me with this problem from afar, or have an idea where the problem may lie, but I’d appreciate every feedback :).

    Strange!

    Do you have an example URL of a single event that’s causing a blank page?

    And if you reload the single event page (1 or multiple times) it’s stays blank all the time?

    Hello Guido,

    I finally have a link for you: https://www.oedlf.at/event/testevent/
    And another one: https://www.oedlf.at/event/testevent2/
    Both show blank pages when I try to access the single event page, as long as they have images.

    Another event worked fine-ish, but I discovered that the image would be missing/broken-link-ish, as soon as I tried to visit the single event’s page with a small screen/mobile. When I tried using another image with the event, it proceeded to break (as in: show a blank screen only) until I finally removed the image for good.

    The problem persists with all three events even if I try to use different images in various file sizes (though all are 1920px width). Reloads don’t seem to help either.

    This is strange!

    There must be something with the so called featured image… do you also have regular blog posts on your site? Because there should be a similar problem with these posts.

    I think there’s a conflict with the loading of the featured image, it might use javascript which causes this issue… that’s the only explanation I have right now.
