• I need some suggestions for a plugin that can do what I need. I’m in the process of putting together a site using WordPress.

    https://www.windowdepotva.com/site

The problem is… dealing with Meta Tags. I found a plugin that seemed prefect called “IMM Meta Tags” and after I activated it, I went to the settings page and keyed in information (keywords, description, etc) and the information appears on the homepage.

When I try to edit pages, there are now options for custom fields such as “IMM_Meta_Tags_-_Options_-_Author”. I enter in new data for each field, save the page, but the page itself still shows the meta tags I designated for the homepage under settings. Why won’t the page(s) show keywords I assigned for each page?

I can’t figure this out. Do I need to get something to the orginial header.php file?

Also, and I know this is asking a lot, but does anybody know how to add custom META tags to the IMM Meta Tags plugin? For instance, I know they provide the basics like keywords, description, noindex, index, etc, but I want to be able to add “geo tags” (ie: geo.position, geo.placename, geo.region, etc) on particular pages.

I see how, in each page — even though I’m having no luck with it currently — you can add custom fields through a drop menu and some choices are already there, such as “_-_Options_-_Author”, so I’m assume there is a place somewhere to add options like “geo.position” instead of “Author”, since “geo.position” is still a simple “meta name” file.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I’ll greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks for the suggestion MichaelH

    Are you familiar with HeadSpace?

I downloaded the file and uploaded it to my plugsin page directory, activated the plugin, and went to adjust the settings.

I got an error message immediately:

wp_footer was not found in footer.php (documentation)”

I added <?php wp_head(); ?> to the footer.php file. The message went away and it did not effect my site, which was good.

BUT now when I click on “https://website.com/site/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=headspace.php#global” to adjust global settings… nothing happens.

Does this plugin hate my theme? I thought about that.

Put it simply the settings won’t expand.

I’ve not used that plugin–just read others you like it–but I just installed it, and was able to access the Settings -> Headspace panel as well as the Tools -> Meta-data panel.

If necessary, delete the wp-content/plugins/headspace2 folder, see if you blog admin is operational, then download the plugin zip to your machine, then use the Plugins-Add neww Install a plugin in .zip format to install it again.
