There are 2 issues I need help with.

1: Stock In – Stocking in a quantity of items when they arrive from a supplier is very important. In all inventory management systems I have used, this is a standalone feature. It is always its own view and it allows quantities to be ADDED not changed and better yet it would track which user made the change and when. Can this be done in ATUM or is the only way to add a quantity though purchase orders and manual change?

2: Any number of suppliers relate to a product. Which industry did you use as a model in designing this feature? Also, suppliers use SKUs that relate to their products. I do not see any place to store or search for supplier SKUs.

    Hi zacklawhon,

Thank you very much for your post and for using ATUM.

I got little scared when you said issues, but I can see that the plugin is working fine and you need help with some requests and features to suit your business.

Let me try to answer to both separately.

    1. This feature is already available. Purchase orders work the same way as WooCommerce orders. When you stock arrives, edit the PO to match the inventory levels. Highlight the products you want to add to stock and press the ‘Add to stock button’. If you need help or video how to do this, please, let me know. We are working on a full documentation site, but it is not ready yet to be released to the public.

    2. There are more than hundred business models, and we did not create this feature to suit any particular one. SKUs included have been added by WooCommerce, and we made the feature work whit these. We are planning to release fully featured PO add-on that will included 3 fields for custom codes. However, this will be released middle of next year. We are only a small team, and ATUM is a very young plugin. We have written you requests down and will consider them for future updates.

I hope this helps, but if there is anything else we can help with, please, do let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Pavel

Thanks for the quick reply Pavel. I think I understand the PO system now. That should work just fine for me. As for the other, I may be able to offer some insight on how that should work if you need it. I have been a PHP developer for over 10 years and I have also been managing a multi-channel seller for about 9 years. I know it is impossible to offer anyone the perfect solution but, there must be many industries that can benefit from the many supplier->one product model and the need to store supplier SKUs. Your plugin is awesome and I think it will easily become THE inventory management plugin for WC/WP. I think you could manage both the Suppliers and Supplier SKUs from the wp-term-taxonomy/wp-term-relationships/wp-terms tables as the Supplier and Supplier SKU would always just relate to Posts. That way you could have both the one-to-many and many-to-many relationships covered. How exactly you display, change, update, or set the status of these suppliers and skus…..not sure. Anyway, let me know if I can help the team at all (totally free by the way). I will mark this post as Resolved.

    Hi zacklawhon,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I appreciate your offer, and I think your experience would be valuable for any team. So, thank you for your insight.

As I have said above, ATUM is a very young plugin and even though I don’t want to reveal everything we want to add in, the blue prints will easily cover the next 5 years of development.

To answer the multi SKU feature, we have this covered already and it will be developed. However, I cant tell you if it will be in the free version. I am an entrepreneur myself and have no need to add suppliers SKUs in this version of ATUM. Please, do become a registered user on our site as we will be looking for testers. I am sure your knowledge will be appreciated.

    Hope this helps.

    Pavel
