Is it necessary to supply a shipping class in woocommerce for each product? And, if so, is the shipping class slug what really matters?

For example, I want to be able to send all of my products R&L, but still have various shipping classes for grouping and sale purposes… We want to quote all of our R&L with the 300 class.

    Example:
    Shipping Class Name, Slug
    Truck Only, 300
    UPS + USPS (+R&L), 300
    UPS (+R&L), 300
    USPS (+R&L), 300

Further explanation for the use case:
I have an advanced shipping plugin where if an item is “truck only” then the whole cart will go truck since we can usually just pack in the smaller items with the larger.

    Would this work?

This plugin does require that each product in cart has a shipping class.

Only the number is required to receive a rate quote (in your example 300). If a weight, shipping class, origin, and destination are sent as part of the request then you will receive a rate quote.
