    Hey, Oguz!

    just run into issue.

    I am using Custom Sidebars to serve different second navigation on different archive & post pages.

    (Maybe) with 4.9.1, after 20 second navigations already done, the new ones stop appears on archive (category) pages, when and only when I asign to the same sidebar (i.e, custom menu default wordpress widget) visibility for post pages. If I reduce visibility to category page, all good.

    There is a workaround, however. I need to create 2 different widgets and asign their visibility to articles for the first and to category (menu) for the second. So, for the same purpose, now I have to create 2 sidebars,

    as visibility for Taxonomy (category) and Filters (posttype) is not working anymore in the same time, in the same widget.

    Hey @solarian-ian,

    I am not sure that I understand that correctly but let me clarify what I understand;

    If you are trying to filter sidebar like this;

    This option does not work like “and” operation, they are working like “or” operation. And that functionality already explained in the description like this;

    These replacements will be applied to every single post that matches a certain post type or category.

    But if you are trying to filter widgets like this;

    When I tried it with the default theme and only Custom Sidebars plugin, it works as expected.

    If you still have the problem, can you open a thread at support forum and can you explain in the more clear way? Maybe screenshots and examples can be more helpful.

    Cheers,
    Oguz

    This really ought to be a separate topic, but I am getting email alerts from [wporg-match] about this thread, because I have a similar username to the topic author. Can I suggest amending the regex for that so that “solarian-ian” is distinguished from “solarian”, etc.

    @solarian ?? sorry, mate! Can I amend the regex somewhere in my profile?

    Hey, Oguz!

    Thnak you for your reply!

    I am using the second way. Now I discovered that If I choose category only for visibility, the custom sidebar will appear on all posts from that category as well, which serves me well.

    Not sure, however, why when choosing visibility to category and that category posts, the custom siderbar appears only in posts pages and not in that category page.

    So, using your example (second screenshot): my custom sidebar will appear on this scenario only in Posts pages, but not in Test page.

    I have to delete (or not select at all) “On any page of this types” and leave only “And Categories TEST” in order for my custom sidebar to appear on TEST category page AND selected POST (tested only with “Only for specific Posts” selected).

    hope this helps.

    @solarian-ian Thanks, but it’s not your fault… it’s the code that runs the forums. I’ve posted a bug report here.
