I installed wordpress 4.9 in German. Although the de_DE .po and .mo files have a correct translation, it still shows “Read Post”, “No older posts” and “No newer posts” in english. How can I fix that?

    Thanks for using Tracks!

Try setting the “read the post” text in the Customizer. There is a “Read More link text” setting in the “Additional Options” section.

As for the “no newer/older posts” text, I’m not seeing these two strings in the de_DE.po file, so it looks like they still need to be translated.

I bought the theme, but I′ve got the same problem. “read the post” and “no older post” is not translated to german. And the “read more” link is not visible. “no newer post” is appears correct in german.

    Any help???

    Thanks for upgrading!

Please use the “Read More Text” option in the Additional Options (zus?tzliche Optionen) section of the Customizer to change the “read the post” text.

The newer/older post text is not yet translated. You can follow along with this tutorial to translate this text on your site: https://www.competethemes.com/help/translate-theme-tracks/

Hi Ben, thank you for the reply.

    1) I allready had translated the “read more link text” under “zus?tzliche Optionen”. But it does not show up when I split a text on more than one page. The pagination is visible, but I would like to show also “read more” (in german).

    2) In the preview boxes on my blog-page there appears only “read the post”, but I would like to get it in german.

I had a look at the link for the translation and opened the .po-file. But everything seems to be translated to german.

Now I′ve got another problem: It does not show the arrow to scroll up, even though the option is active. Any help??

Can you share a link to your site?

    Thank you!

The tracks.pot-file, which I found on my server, has not got “read the post” to translate. But there is “weiterlesen” on the left side, which for sure is german and not english. I opened other .pot-files of other languages (greece). And there I find “read the post” translated to greece.

It seems, that the german.pot-file has got bugs and was badly translated. As I cannot change the source code, I am not able to correct the german file.

As I paid for the theme, I′m a little bit disappointed and not very happy about the pop-up notice this morning on my site, asking for a review. I know, everybody is on holiday mood, but I would appreciate, if I could get help with this problem, and also with the other I already reported: the arrow to scroll up does not appear.

I installed now an editor for .po-files in WordPress, opened the “themes/tracks/languages/de_DE.po”-file and see, it′s different to the “de_DE.po”-file I find on my server under Tracks-theme-languages when I get it there with Filezilla. This seems to be ok.

How comes????? TWO different files ????

    Sorry for the delay.

Since the German translation is out of date, there are some strings in Tracks that have not made it into the .po file yet. You can download a fresh copy of Tracks from here and open up the de_DE.po file with Poedit. Then in the menu, click on “Catalog” and choose the “Update from POT File…” option. Select the tracks.pot file and de_DE.po will load in all the untranslated strings. This includes the “No Older Posts” text. Then you can translate the string and upload the updated de_DE.po file to your site.

For the “Read the Post” text, please make sure the option is saved, and you may also need to clear your site’s cache if the update does not display. I’ve just tested this option again and I am not aware of any bugs that cause it to not display. Just to make sure we’re on the same page, I am referencing this option in the Customizer: https://pics.competethemes.com/oadv

As for the scroll up arrow, I see this when viewing the site now: https://pics.competethemes.com/oal8. Is it visible on your end when you visit? If not, you may need to clear your browser’s cache to get it to show. It also only appears after the visitor has scrolled a little ways down the page.

Hi Ben, I finally have done it now !! Thank you for the support!! Ina

One more thing! Would you mind taking a moment to share the translation files here? I will include them in Tracks in the next update.
