• Hi.

I exported the content of a wordpress.com site as XML.

It was imported into a self hosted wordpress install.

    It looks fine, however,
the ads still appear on mobile and often on desktop display also.

How can I remove the ad content. It’s not relevant anymore.

    Thanks in advance.

    How are you displaying adds?

    Using plugins? Some code snippet?

If so, removing it as appropriate?

the intention is not to display any.

There were no plugins used on wordpress.com (free account). The ads were inserted by automatic.com and are not wanted.

The migration to a selfhosted was easy. But the ads are not wanted. There are no plugins in the site regarding ads.

I think it was because it came from the ‘free’ version of wordpress.com

    Thanks.

I don’t see any ads on the site you linked, but on your homepage, you’ve got these links:

    View post on imgur.com

that link back to your old WP.com site, and I do see ads there.

Thanks very much. You saved a great deal of time with the trouble shooting.

It was exactly what you indicated. The links back to the dotcom version were not updated to the reflect the new site.

    You bailed me out. Thanks.
