I just installed WooCommerce and during the setup wizard it asked me for a payment method. Since I will only use WooCommerce as an Affiliate store, I don’t need any payment options. Unfortunately the setup wizard did not allow me to choose “no payment option”. It would not allow me to continue unless I had at least one option ticked, so I selected Stripe.

After the setup I went to the settings and disabled “Stripe”. However, now across my entire WordPress admin panel, there is a permanent message saying “Stripe is almost ready. To get started, set your Stripe account keys.” – even though Stripe is disabled! I have enabled and disabled it multiple times hoping it would go away.

I can’t get rid of that message. I find this incredibly annoying! How do I get rid of that message?

It seems WooCommerce installed a stripe plugin. I went ahead and deleted that, which also removed the message.
