How to edit themes?

  • Hi I cannot seem to find where you go to edit themes? I got a free theme out of WP directory but the header has a title that I want to change..how and where can I change this? thanks

    I wanted to add that I have SEO all in one plugin and tried changing the title in there and updated but that did not work?

    Change is done in header.php or top.php

    Also check to see if the title you’re seeing is part of the header image background. You can find this in the style.css

    If that’s the case, just edit the image and then reupload it to your server.

    Open the style.css, index.php, header.php, sidebar.php, footer.php and modify them according to your needs. You can find them under wordpress/wp-content/themes/ on your installation
