Category Menu opens categories, but when I have just one post in a category….

Category menu opens categories, but when I have just one post in a category, I’d like it to open that single post.

I’m using a custom child theme of the “Options” theme. It puts a nice category menu at the top, but many of my categories have only one post. Site is being used more as a CMS system than a blog. when a menu item is clicked, it opens a nice summary list of posts in the catagory, which is cool, but I’d like it to, when a category only has one post, to open the post directly. Any ideas?
