Prevent Importer from Changing Data (“post_parent” In “wp_posts” to 0)

  • Hello there! First of all, thanks for the awesome plugin; there’s nothing quite like it and it’s an essential part of WP, so I don’t want to take it for granted.

    I’m creating a new development site, and attempting to import BBPress Forums, Topics, and Replies via multiple XML files. However, during the import process, Importer is changing the data in one of the fields (namely post_parent in wp_posts) to “0”. This then breaks the relationships between the Forums, Topics, and Replies.

    Is there a way to force Importer to not override XML field data in this way? I understand that Importer behaves this way by default because in most cases it would prevent broken relationships, but in this case it seems to be doing the opposite.
