Double home page?

I want my home page to be a “page,” not “posts.” So I created home “page” and set it as the Front Page under Reading Settings (“A static page” checked, Posts per page = “- Select -“).

Now my menu lists both a “Home” page and my created home page. Clicking either brings up my created home page. If I blank out the title of the page, the top menu just has “Home” (which is good), but the bottom menu has a clickable space for my blank-named created page (along with a “Home” page choice).

What am I missing? I thought perhaps I could forget creating a “page” for my home page, but edit the default static “Home” page, but could not find any way to do that. (There is no evidence of a default “Home” page without me creating a “page”).
